This company was created by a profesional tour guide, highly skilled in a wide variety of adventure travel specialties, all of them gained in the course of 16 years of fieldwork experience carried out in the Andean Regions of Peru. In time, the profound and lengthy observation and awareness of the natural wonders and cultural richness of this world, spawned in him the desire to share its marvels with everyone else and so reciprocate the favor that earth and nature had granted him. It was clear that the best way to achieve this would be through the implementation of ecotourism programs together with projects aimed at the revival and recovery of cultural heritage, while simultaneously fostering social development and improvement.
The goal of this company is to protect and preserve both the natural environment and the traditional cultural heritage of the local inhabitants as well as providing for their future welfare. Past and present: times of yore resurge through the timeless legacy of our identity, together with the innovative pursuit and active practice of sustainable tourism which could signify a degree of income and profit for the native communities -100% ecologically and 100% culturally responsible to nature and heritage. That is the vision and the reason for the creation of this venture.
Such is my personal background: My name is Alvaro Sabogal and I am the founder and owner of this enterprise My 16 years of work in different areas and levels of tourism --such as adventure, nature, cultural and traditional- has led me to places like Peru, Chile, Costa Rica and California. I hold a degree in Tourism Administration and I am an officially certified tour guide; in addition to that, I possess another degree in Tourism and studies in Inca History. I have participated in several courses specializing in natural, botanical and ornithological studies, as well as water and mountain rescue training. I am presently completing a degree in Sustainable Tourism and Ecology. I am already availing myself of the opportunity of putting into practice methods and techniques of sustainable tourism in the communities that I visit. Also our staff is training in all the areas and fields. Among
them many have studies and courses in diferent aspects of our culture, history,
nature and adventure. We work with comunities and local People, Our Guides, Cooks,
Porters, Horse Handlers, Drivers and People in General.
In like manner, we have launched several pilot projects in order to help in the salvage of rivers and forests. our fundamental idea is to undertake and carry out tourist activities without any impact upon nature and local culture: we respect the environmental settings that we visit and recycle everything that we utilize.. The tourist activities themselves are pointed toward recovering and revitalizing cultural traditions through marked human interaction while harmonizing with projects of social development.
