Multisport experience in the Andes

We pick you up at the airport and drive out to the Sacred Valley; where we visit an Alpaca and Llama breeding and fiber producing farm and witness aspects of the weaving process. We pick you up at Cusco and drive out to the Sacred Valley for about 1 hour; where we will visit an Alpaca and We pick you up at the airport and drive out to the Sacred Valley; where we visit an Alpaca and Llama breeding and fiber producing farm and witness aspects of the weaving process. Early breakfast and a one and a half hour drive to the put in of the river. Following the safety instruction briefing and checking the gear, we start the river trip .we run fun rapids between classes III and class IV; have a great time for about three hours with picnic lunch included. This is good for beginners or more experienced rafters. We cover a distance of 18 kilometers. Afterwards we go back to the hotel near Ollantaytambo fortress. Hotel (B, L)

Breakfast and then off on a not very difficult mountain biking experience (easy to moderate) in the area of Moray. Here we visit the archaeological site and then bike down to the Salt Mines at Maras. Breakfast and then we drive for 1 hour to the beginning of our biking trail. Here we visit the archaeological site of Moray (one of the experimental field for agriculture from the Incas times) and then bike down to the Saolt Mines at Maras. We board the morning train at Ollantaytambo for about one hour. We reach the archaeological site Wiñay Huayna 2920t) in about two hours where we have lunch and snacks. After a tour we hike to the city of Machu Picchu the “Old Mountain”- (alt.8000 ft) for about three hours, stopping at the Sun Gate catching its first and most spectacular view. We cover 8 kilometers. Then we will go down for 30minutes to the look out place to enjoy more views and a introduction of the citadel. Following that, we descend to the town of Aguas Calientes and wallow in the hot springs. We cover 8 kilometers. Hotel. (B, L)

We go up for an incredible tour of the ancient city and then have free time options for relaxing, meditation and hiking up one of the nearby mountains, Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu. In the morning we transfer to the airport to fly Cusco – Lima and catch your connections.

    What to Bring
    This is a list designed to advise you what equipment is appropriate to bring according to the weather conditions predominating at the time of your trip:

  • Flashlights (at least one headlamp among them).
  • Sun Block; Insect Repellent.
  • Towels (Small; cotton and hygienic).
  • Rain Gear (Pants and Jacket) though not necessary during the months of July and August.
  • A couple of pairs of socks, perhaps even an extra pair.
  • One pair of trousers for the evening plus two more pairs for trail use (zipp-offs).
  • Sandals for River use (Teva types).
  • Low ankle height hiking shoes or regular hiking boots (check the season).
  • Reading material.
  • Binoculars (always useful regardless of season and activity).
  • Bathing Suit.
  • Water Bottle (I liter capacity).
  • Good Sun glasses, perhaps two sets.
  • A bandana for neck protection.
  • A couple of sets of underwear (perhaps an extra pair).
  • Camera and plenty of film.
  • Passport (plus a couple of Xerox copies).
  • At least one short sleeve shirt and one or two long sleeve shirts (dark colors, depending on the place and destiny chosen).
  • And your regular medium to high altitude outer trekking clothes (Anorak-Wind Breaker, Pile or Down Jacket, Wool Hat, Gloves).
