We offer a one day and two days and multi days River rafting for beginners or well experienced rafters on River trips from class I,II,II.Also we have multiday River trips from class (III.IV.V) on the Apurimac River and the Vilcanota River.Check the River conditions.

ITINERARY
DAY ONE: Nayhua to River camp
DAY TWO: River camp to valle de las Rocas camp
DAY THREE: Valle de las Rocas to Wallpachaca
DAY FOUR: wallpa chaca ,space odyssey camp
DAY FIVE:space odissey camp,lamesa camp
DAY SIX: la mesa camp to Quinta primavera

Enjoy three days in one of the main sources of the Amazon River and one of the 10 best rivers in the world.The Apurimac river great speaker of God (Quechua native name) begin in the high mountains of the Andes in the department of Arequipa in the snow peak called Mismi at 5500 mts and flows to the Easter slopes of the Andes from south of Peru to the north part of Peru.The river later become part of the Urubamba river,Tambo to form the Ucayali river that later become part of The Marañon river until it reach the north part of Peru in Iquitos when it called the Amazon River.

ITINERARY
TRIP ITINERARY:

DAY ONE: Nayhua to River camp

We will pick you up at 8,00amin order to begin our driving to the River. After leaving the valley of Cusco we will continue bound south east for about 4 hours until we arrive to the APURIMAC RIVER RAFTING: 6D5Ntown of Pakaritampu (a legendary place where we find the origins of the Incas. Along the way we will drive trough two different ecosystems (Andean scrub bush vegetation and the Andean grass land with chances to see some finches and eagles and Andean gulls and Andean lapwings. There will be spectaculars views of the snow capped along the cordillera of the Andes, where we will see our highest pass at 3855 mts.From this point wee will begin descending in to the canyon and the gorge of the Apurimac River(great speak of god).a succession of small valleys and small villages will accompany our spectacular drive. APURIMAC RIVER RAFTING: 6D5NFrom the town of Nayhua (2600mts) we will walk to the River 15 minutes in order to begin the preparations for the River trip. Once we get everything ready we will begin the rafting in some class I, II rapids to practice all the safety conditions and maneuvers. Then later we will begin running some class III,IV rapids with incredible views of the Canyon for about 2 hours un till we arrive to camp where we will have a nice happy hours and later Dinner setting close to a fair and a beautiful southern sky with constellations.

DAY TWO: River camp to valle de la rocas camp

APURIMAC RIVER RAFTING: 6D5NWith incredible views of the Apurimac River we begin the day with a powerful breakfast. Later after getting ready all the equipment we will continue running rapids class I, II, III, IV.Our first rapid is a technical rapid called submarine and many other class 4.along the river short there will be the opportunity to see some Andean vegetation with some typical fauna and flora of those ecosistems.Also there will be beautiful water falls with crystallize water coming in to the river. Then later we find the Cramps rapid which a class is V. Today we will have one portage that is only available for the river guides and some rapids that are technical where we will have to use all our maneuvers and experience. One we arrive to the nice spot we will have a picnic lunch in one of the River beaches. The rest of the afternoon is easy with rapids class I, II for couple hours with the most beautiful part of the River. This is the time for some body surfing and rafting games. Close to the camp we will have the opportunity to hike a small water fall in order to look for some wild life and relax.

DAY THREE: valle de las rocas to Wallpachaca.

Today we will have a long morning we will pass several bridges and see part of the Santo Thomas River. We prepare our self to run different rapids grade it from class I, II, III, IV where we will find many pools drops like the other right rapid and the 3 condors rapid. There will be rapids with great volume of water, good waves and incredible views of this canyon. You will realize that the gorge in getting deeper while we go in to some rapids. APURIMAC RIVER RAFTING: 6D5NAs well the vegetation will change mainly we will see some species of flora and fauna from the Andean semidry forest and the geography will changes as well with granite walls along the floating. We will stop in the nice spot for lunch and some rest. Later we will arrive to the end in the place called Wallpachaca Bridge.

DAY FOUR:wallpa chaca,space odissey camp

Today we prepare our self for another great section. After getting everything ready we continue running the river on class I,II III rapids. Our first rapid is called Introduction, which is a good class III rapid. After we have the Zig Zag rapid this is class III plus rapid. We will stop for lunch on the river side. After a break we begin APURIMAC RIVER RAFTING: 6D5Nrunning couple class III rapids until we run our first class IV rapid called the Chute, long run. Later we prepare our self for one portagge, because this is a class VI rapid that is not commercial for rafters. After that we will arrive to the Campsite is placed in the canyon of Apurimac; great speaker of God (Quechua native name). Overnight in the camp near the river (B, L, and D).we will float for about 3 hours.

DAY FIVE:space odissey camp,la mesa camp

With a good rest and a powerful breakfast in our stomachs and an incredible view of the canyon before our eyes, we continue to paddle the class III and class IV rapids. Our first rapid is this portage that we will do. APURIMAC RIVER RAFTING: 6D5NAfter we prepare our self to paddle a sections called field of Bombs,a succession of technical class IV rapids in the canyon. Later we find more class IV rapids called Purgatoryand three Marias,Indiana Jones,Zambesi rapid, great water and funrapids rapid.

 We have lunch on the river shore, time to swim and body surfing. Later after a good break we prepare our self for some good IV and class V rapids with a good volume of water called The fork(class V) and Bati cueva(class IV).we will arrive to our second camp in the afternoon. after a few class III rapids. Great scenery,beatifull granite walls in the canyon, time for pictures, body surfing and others activities. Happy hour at the camp; view of local constellations. We will float for about 6 hours.

DAY SIX:lamesa camp ,Quinta primavera

Gazing at the beautiful view of the campsite and the chance to see the native Condor of the Andes and the Andean fox, we prepare to paddle class III such a good morning rapid and the tail of the Dragon class IV.Later we pass Laberinto which is another class IV plus rapid. We have two scouting in order to check two class V rapids(Toothache and the You first),depending of the conditions of the group and levels of water we will decide if we can run it or people will walk. After we paddle some class III plus rapids. Them we prepare our self for two easy class V rapid called Babalua and the last laugh , great water, great runs. There will be a chance to see some of the birdlife of the river like the Torrents Duck(Merganetta armanta) as well somee Bromelids,Giant agaves(Agave sp),Carob trees(prosopis sp) and some Tuna cactus(Opuntia sp) and the Andean Gull(Larus serranus).APURIMAC RIVER RAFTING: 6D5N

After we will continue with some class III rapids, Lunch on the river beach. Today we float for about 5 hours. We will cover a distance of 55 kilometrs.We also we began the river at 2300 mts and we finish at 1700 meters, our drop from beginning to the end is about 600 mts.

What to bring
What to bring
<br/>This is a list designed to advise you what equipment is appropriate to bring according to the weather conditions predominating at the time of your trip:
  • Sleeping Bag, preferably down (check for weather conditions).
  • Flashlights (at least one headlamp among them).
  • Sun Block; Insect Repellent.
  • Towels (Small; cotton and hygienic).
  • Rain Gear (Pants and Jacket) though not necessary during the months of July and August
  • A couple of pairs of socks, perhaps even an extra pair.
  • One pair of trousers for the evening plus two more pairs for trail use (zipp-offs).
  • Sandals for River use (Teva types).
  • Low ankle height hiking shoes or regular hiking boots (check the season).
  • Reading material.
  • Binoculars (always useful regardless of season and activity).
  • Bathing Suit.
  • Water Bottle (I liter capacity).
  • Good Sun glasses, perhaps two sets.
  • A bandana for neck protection.
  • A couple of sets of underwear (perhaps an extra pair).
  • Camera and plenty of film.
  • Passport (plus a couple of Xerox copies).
  • At least one short sleeve shirt and one or two long sleeve shirts (dark colors, depending on the place and destiny chosen).
  • And your regular medium to high altitude outer trekking clothes (Anorak-Wind Breaker, Pile or Down Jacket, Wool Hat, Gloves).
