We offer a one day and two days and multi days River rafting for beginners or well experienced rafters on River trips from class I to class III.Also we have multiday  River trips from class (III.IV.V) on the Apurimac and the Vilcanota River.Check the River conditions.

The great Urubamba River is a river in Peru. A partially navigable head water of the Amazon River. It rises in the Andes to the south-east of Cusco near the Puno region border( in a place called la raya pass at 4338 mts) in between the Chiboya snowcapped(5489mts) and the Mosaya snow peak at (5400mts),where is called the Vilcanota river. Also one of the main sources of water fro this sacred river is the snowcapped mountain Ausangate (6384mts).In ht e sacred valley, between Pisac and Ollantaytambo, it is also called the Willcamayu (sacred river of the Incas).it is flow north-northeast for about 724kilomters before coalescing with the great Apurimac river, another main source of the Amazon river to form the Ucayali river.

The Urubamba river is divided in the upper Urubamba and the lower Urubamba, the dividing feature being the Pongo(a place where the entire river go in to the narrow canyon called el Pongo de Mainique,a famous white water long section ,where the motor boats cross these sections filled with rapids class I;II,III,in the canyon.

Most of the commercial river trips and found in the upper Urubamba and lower Urubamba River. We offer a multiday river trips and one day river trips. We have easy floating trips and demanding river trips in different sections of this mighty and mystical river of the Incas.

DAY ONE: Cusipata section

VILCANOTA WHITE WATER RAFTING: 2D1N CLASS I
We will drive south out of Cusco city, through farmland and valleys for about 1, 30 minutes until we arrive at the small village of Cusipata (“happy place”) in the vicinity of which we will begin our rafting trip. After the safety instructions and all the gear ready, we put in to the water and paddle for about two hours in class II and III rapids. We will run the introduction rapid which is a class III rapid. Then we begin running a section of class II rapids until we reach the Canyon of
Cusipata.
In this canyon we will find a good rapids class III. Some sections of waves with some good flat sections of class I and class II. Later we float in the class II rapids with beautiful views of the Vilcanota mountain range.
Later we will have lunch in the nice spot near the river. Also there will be a good chance to see some of the flora and fauna of the Andean forest. We cover a distance of 15 kilometers. Afterwards, we take out in the place where we have our camping area. This day we will camp under the sky of the souther hemisphere. In our camp we will have a beautiful hike to the Inca tombs’ near our camp and the rest of the afternoon free to relax.

DAY TWO:Chuquicahuana section
VILCANOTA WHITE WATER RAFTING: 2D1N CLASS IWe star the trip by 8am and then we drive south east into the mountains. One of the first views of the impressive Vilcanota mountain range. On the way to our put-in point we pass several small villages until reaching one town called LLocllora.In this place we get ready the safety instructions and meeting our safety Kayak and the safety equipment and gear for the rafting. We will begin our rafting trip and float for about 2 hours. We will begin with a rapid class III

called the Introduction. After we pass the class III plus rapid called the curve. Later we will go in to the section class I and class II rapids. After a rest and great views of the Vilcanota mountain range, we run the canyon where we will find the good section with two class III rapids called the train of waves and the knife. Later we will find three class IV rapids. Our first rapid is difficult, we stop for a scouting the rapid. Then we continue down the river where we will find the Butterfly

rapid, class IV. After that we have the bridge rapid class IV rapid. Later we take a break and we have beautiful views of the mountains we prepare our self for a good section of several small waves, a large rapid over 100 meters long with the continuation of great waves called the big waves section, is a class IV. Later we will have two great classes III plus rapids. After we will be running class I and class II the end. Also great chance to see some of the flora and fauna of the Andean valleys. After we run the river we have a place to change and have lunch. Drive back to Cusco in 1,30 minutes.

What to bring
What to bring

This is a list designed to advise you what equipment is appropriate to bring according to the weather conditions predominating at the time of your trip:

  • Flashlights (at least one headlamp among them).
  • Sun Block; Insect Repellent.
  • Towels (Small; cotton and hygienic).
  • A couple of pairs of socks, perhaps even an extra pair.
  • One pair of trousers for the evening plus two more pairs for trail use (zipp-offs).
  • Sandals for River use (Teva, Chaco types).
  • Low ankle height hiking shoes or regular hiking boots (check the season).
  • Reading material.
  • Binoculars (always useful regardless of season and activity).
  • Bathing Suit.
  • Water Bottle (I liter capacity).
  • Good Sun glasses, perhaps two sets.
  • A bandana for neck protection.
  • A couple of sets of underwear (perhaps an extra pair).
  • Camera and plenty of film.
  • Passport (plus a couple of Xerox copies).
  • At least one short sleeve shirt and one or two long sleeve shirts (dark colors, depending on the place and destiny chosen).
  • Waterproofjacket .
